The Best Reading Routine For Busy People

Life always gets in the way of pleasure. But it shows your love when you still manage to take some time for things you enjoy. I’m also a busy bee like you and I, too, find it knotty to make time for hobbies and stuff. Then again, nothing is impossible if you put your mind to it. So I came up with a feasible and best reading routine for me. It truly works for me and I hope it does for you as well.

I hear people saying they read 12 books a month, and some twenty. Even the thought of it was mind-boggling to me. But I envy those who get to enjoy themselves so much.

My reading routine is simple but it fits my lifestyle. Let me tell you what I do.

The Best Reading Routine

I love holding a book in my hand. The weight of it is comforting and it also ensues connecting with the story better. But recently, I started listening to audiobooks.

At first, I wasn’t that into it but eventually, I see the upside of audiobooks. They are the best for busy people like you and me.

To read a book I have to find an appropriate place and time but with an audiobook, I can listen to it anytime I want. During a car ride, sure. During my evening walk, yes. And I can even sleep listening to it.

Someone I know said, “You can turn downtime into uptime with audiobooks.” It’s right.

So do I not read physical books anymore?

Oh, I do.

I’m never going to stop that. Print is the best if you ask me. The essence of reading is in the print itself. I’m just saying audiobook is not a bad option if you’re too busy to read the paper books.

I buy one audiobook on Audible every month. It gets me by. I’m reading a book and listening to an audiobook this month. That’s a step-up from not reading at all.

Finally, I take part in Twitter audio rooms on books and we discuss what we read that month. This is a great way to keep your reader’s spirit alive. The more you talk to fellow readers the more you will become enthusiastic to read in spite of your busy schedule. You will also find many fascinating book recommendations in those audio rooms.

All I’m saying is there is a way.

So what are you reading this month? And have you tried any audiobooks yet?

Cheers,

Nikki.

Thanks for reading
