5 Puzzle Games to enhance your Brainpower

Yesterday I solved Rubik’s cube. Yes, it took me three hours even with Youtube’s help but a win is a win, no matter how long it takes. The first time I watched it was mind-boggling. There were so many sequences to remember, and I messed it up twice before I could solve it. But I’m glad I stuck with it until it’s complete. The victorious feeling you get at the end of it is indescribable, I flexed the solved Rubik’s cube to my family for a whole day. It annoyed them but I guess it was worth it. LOL.

I love puzzle games that are based on reasoning. They activate my mind. Basically, I’m a creative person, right-brained, but I don’t hate occasional left-brain activities. Because it helps develop my logic and reasoning and also improves my concentration.

So I’ve come with FIVE of my favorite left-brain stimulating puzzle games.

All-time Best Puzzle Games

1. Rubik’s cube

As I said, I solved it and I loved it. There’s an awesome tutorial on Youtube – Solve Rubik’s cube. I had to watch it three to four times to apprehend everything explained there, but I think it’s the easiest and well-explained tutorial of all on solving a Rubik’s cube.

I always wanted to be able to solve a Rubik’s cube but I only wanted to it solve on my own. But things like this, it’s better to learn from an expert.

2. Sudoku

Solving a Sudoku puzzle has become a daily activity for me. Either in a newspaper or on my iPad, I solve a minimum of two puzzles every day. Before I was at a 3-star level but now I’ve raised to 4-star. Once I even solved a five-star sudoku puzzle.  You can imagine how elated I was.

You can start slow if you are new to this game but I promise it will be extremely engaging. You can find several great tutorials on Youtube.

3. Jigsaw puzzle

We all played Jigsaw puzzles in our childhood, didn’t we? This is no new to us. But since we started adulting probably it would have become difficult to play it anymore. It’s the same for me. But once in a while, do find some time, it’s good for your heart and your mind. And a great way to bust our stress.

The above two are solo games but this could also be a group activity. Actually, I’m planning to get one on Amazon and try it on our family game night. It would be fun and a great way to power up our minds.
