Going into 2021 with just One Resolution

One thing we all agree on is that 2020 hasn’t been an easy year. It taught us what matters but in a hard way. We started 2020 with many resolutions but everything went down the drain when nature declared war against the human race. That made me realize that we don’t have control over the most important thing, TIME. You never know what the future holds, all you have in your hands is NOW. The present moment. Then what’s the point of having a long list of what should be done.

But I also think resolutions make us be on the right track. So this year, 2021, I only have one resolution. Honestly, I think it sums up pretty much everything we want/need to do.

“Do it right. Period.”

Let it be anything, a hobby or work or fun or something else, I just want to do it right. This year I don’t want to make a bunch of resolutions and run after them like crazy. Whatever I’m going to do I want to give it my all. I want to put in my 100% effort. That will automatically get the results.

You know what, I actually have written a list of resolutions for 2021. But when I reached the end of that list, I realized that I made that list depending on what I see around me; my peers, my family, or the progressing world. All outside circumstances.

But when I looked within, I understood what I want exactly. I want to do it my way, whatever it can be, I’ll do it my way.

I have my own timeline, I have my own space, I have my own circumstances, so I’m gonna do it my way.

So when this thought popped, I tore the list I prepared and on a fresh page, I wrote “Do it right.”

The second I did that, I felt a huge weight lifted off my chest. It felt right. It felt peaceful.

I might go back to the long list next year but I want 2021 to be this way. A year for myself. I want 2021 to be a joyful and memorable year. That should explain why I welcomed 2021 the way I did. 🙂

What’s your resolution for 2021?

Comment what you feel.

Lots of LOVE,

Nikki.

Thank you for your time

  1. Nice…
My side there are many resolutions to be taken but I believe in living present and keeping my complete 100 percent efforts…
Future can’t be judged or expected… So I always to be enjoy my life every moment without worries or frustrations…

  2. I’m with you here on this! Instead of a long list of resolutions like I did last year, I just chose a word/theme of the year and quarter. For general life, my word is “play” – just trying to bring some more joy and light to everyday. For my blog/work, the word is “consistency”. Hoping this will have better results!
