What Is Love? (Different People & Their Different Ways)

What is LOVE? In school, I remember studying food, water, and shelter are three necessities for a person to live a life. Growing up I realized Love is just as important. From the day we were born each one of us plays several roles and will love many different people during our lifetime. And every one of those touches your life in a different way. You remember each of them differently depending on how they express themselves.

Do you know how we express love while playing out our different roles?

Let’s have a beautiful discussion this Tuesday!

A Mother

says “I Love You” by stroking your hair gently when you are sad, by multi-tasking every day without any holidays for your well-being, by planting a kiss on your forehead while you were asleep, and by defending you when someone mistreats you. Her love for us is quite palpable that we could almost touch it.

A Father

Says “I Love You” by working day and night for your prosperity, by saving up as much money as he could so he can give it all to you, by trying his best to buy every stupid thing we ask. A father’s love is almost invisible (as he expresses little) yet if you look closely it is so strong that it is what is building you up every moment.

A Brother

Might say “you look ugly” but every time he means the opposite of it. Fights bring you closer and a brother is the best example for it. He teases you, taunts you, criticizes you but would kill if someone else does that. Younger or older, a brother is a brother. And he says “I Love You” by doing everything in power to annoy you. The better he annoys you, the more he loves you. LOL.

A Sister

Says “I Love You” by wishing for her sibling’s good future and success no matter how much they squabble. Every time they fight she may say “I’m never going to talk to you again” but after receiving a simple sorry she melts away and forgets all about it.

Life partner

They are the most confusing. Depending on their age their way of expressing love changes. In the beginning, they are all lovey-dovey, after a few years it’s the comfort being with each other, then looking out for the family together, and in the old age, it’s the long journey they had together; the hardships and happiness. Nevertheless, it is all just the same when it’s love.

A husband complains how his wife nags all the time yet he misses it when she doesn’t. And a wife says how his husband doesn’t pay attention to tiny details (which she does obviously) yet she would never let anyone else utter a word against him.

How strange!

A Friend

A friend‘s ways of expression are so diverse. Sometimes they act like your mother when they say “text me when you are home”, and at times father when they scold you for squandering your savings on a whim. And sometimes they act as your sibling when they fight with someone to defend you. Surprisingly, some even become life partners. Look at the possibility.

Yet we never say I Love You (except in case of life partners) to them. It will be cringey if we do. LOL.

A Daughter

Says “I Love You” by saying “my mom/dad taught me this”, by wearing her mom’s outfit, by reminding father to drive safe, by spending her first earning to buy gifts for family. Although she doesn’t say those 3 words, it’s quite evident. Her love.

A Son

Expresses his love and care by saying “I’ll take care of that” when his parents are worried about something and says “I’ll handle him” when someone bothers his sister. Everything he does to provide comfort protection and leisure to his parents and siblings is all love.

A Grandfather

Says “I Love You” by taking his grandkid to a toy store frequently and asking “pick whatever you want”, by giving you pocket money every time you visit them, by appreciating everything you do, and in a way, he loves you more than his own kids. *wink*

A Grandmother

A grandmother, despite her knee pains, goes into the kitchen and prepares her grandchildren’s favorite meal. Brings all the fruit and snacks available in the home to feed her loving grandkids. That’s her way of making you feel loved and special.

love

Saying “I Love You” might be sweet to hear but actions always speak louder than those 3 words. And personally, I believe actions better than words.

What do you say?

Share what you feel in the comments.
Adios!

Until next time,

Lots of LOVE,

Nikki.
