I’m always in for trying out new and chemical-free cosmetics. That’s why when I saw this Ayurvedic lipstick from SoulTree, I immediately added it to the shopping cart. I knew I have to try it. I love lipsticks, even on the days I’m not really in the mood to wear any makeup, I manage it with just putting on some vibrant lipstick. Yep, that’s how I roll. So, when I saw an Ayurvedic lipstick I did not think twice to buy it.

And that’s what we are going to review today.

Is it really as good as regular lipsticks?

Is it affordable?

When it comes to any product, it just comes down to these two important questions. So, that is what we are going to find out.

SoulTree Ayurvedic Lipstick

First off, let me tell you a little bit about the brand, SoulTree. THIS IS AN INDIAN BRAND. Our country is under lockdown for months and our PM, Narendra Modi, has requested us to buy only local goods to restore our economic growth. I went a little off-topic but not quite, now is the important time to buy only Indian made products to help our nation. So, this product being an Indian made is a very big plus.

But to be frank, it’s not just enough to be made in India, it has to be equally good to use as well. Let’s see about that.

What else I like about this brand?

• No testing on animals. (Why? Read this to know why you should choose cruelty-free cosmetics.)
• No harsh chemicals. In one of my earlier articles, I listed some of the chemical ingredients used in cosmetics that are harmful to us.
• They collect the ingredients through NGOs who work with local farmers and communities.
• Internationally certified and SoulTree is a supporter of “Safe Cosmetics“.

 

Review:

I like it. I really like it. There’s nothing to complain about. I got it in the shade glowing violet (product no: 513). I loved the shade. The more I use it, the more the color grew on me. It costs 650 INR (but I got it for 460 INR after some discount). These are the things I observed:

1. It comes in really simple packaging.
2. It’s a vegetarian product.
3. It has a mild aroma that is fine.
4. The texture is creamy which makes the application smooth.
5. It is not too pigmented for just one swipe. Actually, I also expected the color to be a bit brighter. But you can build the color swipe by swipe which I think is fine.
6. You can use this for everyday purposes (one swipe) and for party looks (multiple swipes).
7. You know how putting on some lipsticks give you chapped lips? I know, very annoying. That is not the case with Soultree Ayurvedic lipstick. It’s very soft on the lips and doesn’t chap.
8. And finally, is it affordable? Yes, I think so. It is actually on the line between affordable and not. Considering other brands and their lip products, this should be considered affordable in most of the cases. Also, this is a year-long investment, not a use and throw product. So, I think 650 INR is justifiable.

The only con is:

1. It doesn’t last for more than three to four hours. 3 to 4 is also a good number but just putting the information there in case you expect more.

Rating:

Because nothing is perfect. But I really think there’s nothing to not like about this Ayurvedic lipstick.

Would I recommend this?
