Sleepless Nights?? Try these Simple Remedies

Sleepless nights are terrible. When everybody is fast asleep and there you were staring at the wall all night, tossing and turning to find a comfortable sleeping position. It is quite annoying, isn’t it? Apart from the annoying stuff, it also seriously affects your health. Recently, I sprained my leg and with pain and discomfort, I could hardly sleep an hour. All I had was disturbed sleep for two long weeks. I took painkillers and even a sleeping pill to have some good sleep. But even that didn’t work. So, on a trial and error basis, I tried a few things which I thought might help with my sleeplessness, and luckily, some did. Ergo, I’m going to let you know what I did and what worked. After all, a good night’s sleep is essential for your physical and mental health.

Without any further ado, let’s dive into it.

5 Best ways to fight Sleepless nights

1. Aroma Diffuser

This is real magic. As I said I didn’t get much sleep for two weeks but later when I tried an aroma diffuser, I slept like a baby. No kidding. I had no idea that an aroma diffuser with essential oils can be this effective. If you have trouble sleeping, you must give this aroma diffuser a chance. You will surely see the difference. It sort of became my routine to put an aroma diffuser right next to me when I go to bed and it certainly helped.

2. Warm Milk Before Bed

I heard warm milk before bed gets you a good sleep. Although I haven’t tried it myself, I believe it certainly helps as I heard it from many people. Apparently, milk contains an amino acid that helps induce sleep. Just as milk, I also heard chamomile tea helps your sleep. Try and see if any of these work for you.

3. Dip Feet in Hot Water

A warm shower one to two hours before going to bed helps the body’s natural flow and sleep by lowering body temperature. If not that, at least dip your feet in hot water. That helps too. It will give you a deeper sleep.

4. Exercise

Exercising can improve your sleep patters but mind you, not before bed. Exercising just before bed is not helpful at all for your sleep. It excites your body and you will feel more awake than ever. So just include exercise into your routine but not right before you sleep.

5. Stay Off the Phone

Too much staring into your phone screen can affect your sleep. You feel tired but you couldn’t sleep, and that is an effect of mobile phones. They keep your mind active and hence your sleeplessness. If anything, try reading a book. Here are my 3 favorite books that kept me hooked until the very last page, perhaps they might interest you. That can be good and won’t disturb your sleep.

That’s all. If you are suffering from all those stressful sleepless nights, I hope these would help you. I don’t know about the other tips, but I suggest you definitely try the aroma diffuser. Okay, I’ll see you next time. Until then, keep loving Nikki’s talk.
