5 Tips to Grow LinkedIn Network at the Speed of Light

Your Network is your Net worth. Regardless of the field you’re in, networking holds a special prominence. This is the part you should NOT overlook at any cost. And LinkedIn networking is the 2.0 version of our conventional ways. It erased the boundaries and gave us an opportunity to scale our networking to new bounds. Over the last few months, I generated hundreds of leads and even a few sales from my LinkedIn network. Awesome, right?

And the fact here is that I haven’t even tapped into the real power of LinkedIn. In my own research I found these 5 ways to be helpful in growing our LinkedIn networks.

So let’s dive in and grow our LinkedIn networks together.

Grow LinkedIn Network at the speed of light

1. Join LinkedIn Groups

Unlike Facebook, LinkedIn communities are very topic focused and filled with serious people who are eager to learn and invest in themselves. Until before this year I never paid much attention to LinkedIn but genuinely, LinkedIn has so much potential.

Join multiple groups that are relevant to your field of work and regularly make posts there. And mind you, instead of cold link dropping engage with those that interact with your post. Through this, in no time, you will start making some real connections.

2. Are you a L.I.O.N?

I recently came to know about the L.I.O.Ns on LinkedIn. L.I.O.N stands for “LinkedIn Open Networks” and these are people who would also be willing to connect with the unknown. So, you can go and type out LION in the search bar and you will come across a bunch of people working in the same network as you.

You can also add LION next to your name if you are also willing to connect with people outside your known.

3. Send connections

Don’t wait until someone sends you a connection, be proactive and send a connection request if you come across someone you’re interested to connect with.

Through interacting in the LinkedIn groups you joined, you are gonna find many amazing people. When that happens, don’t hesitate to send a connection request.

4. Import your current contacts

It’s not just about making new connections, it’s also important to strengthen your current and forgotten contacts. So import your email contacts to your LinkedIn profile and send connection requests.

5. Make real conversations with current connections

It’s a follow-up tip to the previous one. Strengthen your relationship with those that are already in your LinkedIn network.

Don’t just be one of those people who just add and forget. I’m guilty of this mistake myself before I understood how powerful LinkedIn can be.

So remember this: Don’t just make a connection, make it a real one.

That’s all.
